Joan Hanna Passes Away

We deeply regret and with sadness announce the passing of Joan Hanna, the widow of the late trade unionist and former Senator Leroy “Duke” Hanna.  Mrs. Hanna who was key to the development of the Small Hope Bay Lodge in Andros and later the Traveller’s Rest Restaurant in Western New Providence will be remembered for her contribution to the civic life of our country, her advocacy of for human rights and her contribution to education and to the political life of The Bahamas. Rest in peace.
