The management of the Bahamas Power and Light Company (BPL) are the laughing stock of the country these days. At the start of last week, they were confidently being quoted in the press of The Bahamas that there would be no load shedding this summer in Nassau. They confidently claimed that this would be a thing of the past. The words weren’t out of their mouths yet before the power in New Providence went off. For three days they were announcing load shedding across the island. This is quite a vexing problem for this nation, that no one seems to be able to keep the power on. We assure you that no one is going to want to come and invest in a country without a reliable supply of electricity.
