Only Fools Rush In Where Wise Men Fear To Tread

Immediately following the disclosure of Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Ltd (CTFE) of Hong Kong as the selected purchaser of the Baha Mar Resort, Sarkis Izmirlian’s chief surrogate, mouthpiece and parachuted FNM Candidate for Montagu Dionisio D’Aguilar rushed to proclaim that CTFE was unsuited to invest in the Bahamas.

D’Aguilar boldly claimed that the principals of CTFE were unable to obtain casino licenses in two US states; he also claimed that CFTE has a “well-documented connection to organized crime in Asia.”

CTFE quickly denied that it has ever applied for a casino license in the United States, and as such, has never been denied by that jurisdiction as claimed by D’Aguilar.

D’Aguilar’s claims against the Cheng family according to The Tribune appear to have fallen far short of their target and seem overblown.

The Tribune’s description is very generous as it is clear that someone who claims to be an outstanding businessman should have undertaken a process of full and proper due diligence and not rush to disparage an outstanding, well known and internationally recognized and established company.

One could not help but believe that D’Aguilar is so motivated by a selfish ulterior motive, laced with spite and revenge that he is prepared to tell outright lies in a vain attempt to scuttle and destroy this important project.

D’Aguilar is reminded that Only Fools Rush In Where Wise Men Fear To Tread.
