1 August 2019 marked the 185th anniversary of the emancipation of African slaves in the British Empire. That was celebrated in Nassau and the rest of The Bahamas on Monday 4th August. Nowhere is the celebration more marked in The Bahamas than in Fox Hill. Senator Fred Mitchell, the former MP for Fox Hill, was there as usual to mark the occasion.
