ALFRED SEARS PROVES A POINT: he is going to run for Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party. He made the announcement just about the time we were uploading the last edition of this column. We wish him well. So now we will see whether the PLP has the same silly meltdown that the FNM had. Mr. Sears promises to run a respectful campaign. PLP Chairman Bradley Roberts says that it will be fine and no meltdown like the FNM. The Prime Minister Perry Christie says he’s not worried. Mr. Christie’s Minister of Education Jerome Fitzgerald said Mr. Sears’ timing was bad and Tourism Minister Obie Wilchombe said Mr. Sears will lose and it will be Mr. Christie by a landslide.
