Statement From Dr. Michael Darville’s Family Members
On Friday 5 January, the ZNS Northern Service News carried a story in which a staff member of Super Bucks, the pharmacy owned by the son of Senator Michael Darville reported that she had been fired for refusing to attend a church and make a pledge to Christian religious fealty. The accusation was made against the wife of Dr. Darville who ran the facility. Mrs. Darville said that Christian affiliation was a corporate decision and employees were expected to confirm. She said that the lack of payment of National Insurance would be resolved. On Saturday 6 January, the son and owner of the facility issued a statement saying that Mrs. Darville would no longer be affiliated with the store. Mrs. Darville wrote an apology to the staff indicating that she was not correct in insisting on the religious affiliation.
