Pile up of bodies under the FNM’s crime strategy Wednesday night 8 May 2019 at Potter’s Cay

The FNM was busy all over town last week trying to make something important out of this unimportant event on 10 May 2019.  Like Franklin D Roosevelt we say that for the purposes of the marking of that election victory, it is a date, 10 May, that will live in infamy.

The Bahamian people must have lost their ever living minds to have voted for these people who now govern this  country. They had no clue what they were doing.

The laugh of the week is that of Peter Turnquest, the Finance Minister, who is going to miss his revenue and deficit targets by a mile this year, who is boasting that the economy is going in the right direction.  How could it be when men and women are sitting on the streets idle and with nothing to do?

It is the same with this silly twit Marvin Dames, the wanna be Commissioner of Police, who says that crime is down.  Only within minutes of that boast, there was an explosion of gun shooting and death in plain sight.  The new shot spotter technology did nothing to solve that. The bodies of two men and then four men in twenty four hours shown around social media as if they were dead cows on the side of the road.  The Government was silent in the face of that.

Each day, we learn that no lie lasts forever.

It is inexplicable how the PLP gave this country in the last five years the Bahamas Agricultural Marine Science Institute ( BAMSI), Bahamar, Legalizing Gambling, University of The Bahamas, National Health Insurance, Urban Renewal. All of that in five short years and left a country which despite two hurricanes back to back was seeing a rise in employment, yet the Bahamian people chose to vote for these clueless idiots we have in power.

Even their signature mantra that of corruption, they cannot even get that right. They  botched the Frank Smith case.  Transparency International now gives The Bahamas its lowest ranking on the corruption index ever. That is two years into a regime that they said was going to clean up corruption.

It is time for them to go.  The Right Wing experiment has failed. They deserve an F minus for their two years.  It is clear though that this country can hardly afford another two years of this.
