Untethered Dogs Cause Damage To Businessman
People in this country don’t seem to know it but the law requires that if you have dogs, you must keep them tied if you don’t have a fenced in yard. This is a particular problem in Bimini where running in the mornings becomes an issue and untied dogs come charging out at runners. Recently in Nassau, the problem came front and centre when a business executive of a well- known company was savagely attacked by four untied dogs including a pit bull. The dogs severed a nerve in his arm and it requires rehab work in order to get it going again. Suing may get compensation in money terms but does not recover the loss of trust and the shock. The police and the Bahamas Humane Society should start a greater programme of public education on this and then start issuing summonses to recalcitrant owners.
