MICHAEL PINTARD MIXED UP LIKE CONCH SALAD

by editor editor October 4, 2026

We quote with approval the following statement from a Voice Note by Fred Mitchell, Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party dated Friday 2 October 2026:

Bahamians have an expression “mixed up, like conch salad”. That is what you call the Leader of the Opposition Michael Pintard, on the question of the work of foreign agents in the Bahamas.  Dame Billy Miller, the former Barbadian foreign minister, had an expression that I like, and I offer this today as gratuitous advice to Michael Pintard.

You can’t approbate and reprobate at the same time. That means you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Michael Pintard, the poet that he is, has brought the mastery of the word salad to politics; the mastery of saying, one thing on the one hand and then on the other hand.

So with regard to foreign agents working in The Bahamas without government permission, he can’t make up his mind. He says he agrees that it is wrong for them to do that without the permission of the government, but then he disagrees with The Bahamas government trying to find out what the facts are, even as the foreign agents themselves indicated that the Government of The Bahamas did not know of their activities.

Then Mr. Word Salad jumps to the conclusion that the government is seeking to protect criminals. Well, no sir, the government is not seeking to protect criminals. It is seeking to protect you a Bahamian citizen. You Michael Pintard, so you don’t one day become a politician number 1, 2 or 3 or anything without any evidence or support. Just a bald assertion in an untested document and your reputation is damaged.

Thereby, the Government of the Bahamas seeks to protect Bahamian citizens and the rule of law. It has nothing to do with protecting criminals. Mr. Pintard is so blinded by hatred for the PLP that he can’t see the forest for the trees.
