Alfred Sears On The Integrity Commission Bill

Senator Fred Mitchell with Alfred Sears QC during the discussion on the Integrity Commission Bill on 25 January at PLP HQ Gambier House

Alfred Sears Q C led the PLP at its headquarters in a discussion on the proposed Integrity Commission Bill.  He urged PLPs to know that it was the PLP who first brought the issues of corruption and conflict of interest into the public life of The Bahamas. He said that the PLP ought to work on advancing the forward movement on the fight against systemic corruption.  He urged tweaking of the bill which is now before the House to make the proposed new commission which is to replace the Public Disclosure Commission more independent.
