A Fire A St Matthew’s The Nation’s Oldest Church Building
Overnight social media showed pictures of the Fire Department dousing flames at St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Eastern New Providence last night. The Anglican Church which was built by contractor Joseph Eve and opened for divine worship on 18 July 1802 and which has been continuously occupied since then was struck on the evening of 23rd December. No word on the damage.
