Bahamian Alana K. Dillette, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at the L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in San Diego State University has led an academic research team which won the award for ‘Best Research Paper’ at the International Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) 2018 conference in Miami, Florida this past week.

Dr. Dillette served as first author on the research paper, entitled: ‘Tweeting the Black experience: Social media counter-narrative stories as innovative insights on #TravelingWhileBlack.’ together with Dr. Stefanie Benjamin (University of Tennessee – Knoxville) and HRT minor undergraduate from UTK, Chelsea Carpenter.
Dr. Dillette, in her third year lecturing act San Diego State, noted ” We are very proud and happy to share this moment!”.
