Tomlinson Academy in Freeport, is shown on Friday 19th February at the portrait of Edwin “ Apple “ Elliott” unveiled in honour of the late pianist, and band leader. Mr. Elliott died in 2007. The portrait is housed in the Academy.

Saturday 20th February was the birthday of Bahamian actor and icon Sidney Poitier and Ambassador Stan Smith. Mr. Poitier is 89. Mr. Smith turned 40.
