BPL CUTS THE POWER IN THE CITY AS A PRECAUTION

The island of New Providence is still reeling in discomfort from unexpected power cuts. There is no rhyme or reason nor pattern that you can depend on before you are plunged into darkness.  The latest episode was the customers in Ft Charlotte and in the city of Nassau were without power for at least 6 hours on Friday 21 August 2026. In this case, BPL was trying to be proactive. They discovered that there was a cable fault that might mean catastrophic failure if it were allowed to go unrepaired. So they opted to shut the system down before the catastrophe and repair it.  They sent out a notice. Small comfort but it seems they are learning now how to deal with this stuff. Short story though, we just want these power cuts to end.
