CUSTOMS EXEMPTION FOR ABACO OF 31 MARCH PASSES BUT…

The general deadline for the duty exemptions for those who want to rebuild from Hurricane Dorian has now closed.  Like the crawfish season which closed on 31st March 2022, the general exemption for hurricane relief has expired.  This caused a rush on the Office of Prime Minister of those who were trying to beat the deadline.  The Government does not want to extend the general deadline because too many rich people have been taking advantage of the exemption when the exemption was not meant for them.  So while the general exemptions have closed, the Office of the Prime Minister will continue to accept applications and deal with them on a case by case basis.
