Dolly Flowers Buried

In Christmas 2004, Fred Mitchell MP remembered that he had his then 15 year old nephew Denair with him on a holiday visit to Grand Bahama. That was the year that Edward St George , the Chair of the Grand Bahama Port Authority died. He took his nephew to the straw market in Freeport and introduced him to a woman named Dolly.  Her proper name was Pamela Flowers.  She asked the young Mitchell who he was and he explained who his mother was. Dolly then chimed in: are you Tony Dillet’s grandson. He replied yes. She said hold on a minute.  She went into her purse and brought out a crumpled 50 dollar bill and gave it to the young man. She said that it was because his grandfather was good to her that she gave the money.  Mr. Mitchell ( Fred) said he never forgot that act of generosity and  he has called her a friend ever since.  Sadly she passed away and was buried in Eight Mile Rock on Saturday 5 February 2022. Rest in peace. He was joined by Foreign Service Officer T’Sean Mott.
