In passing Emancipation Day 1st August 2019 Dr Keith Rowley, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and Mrs. Rowley celebrate the freedom day of African slaves in the then British Empire, 1 August 1834. The day is marked in The Bahamas on 5 August and is known as August Monday.
