HAITI’S ISSUES STILL LOOM

The Americans have sent in a small security force to guard the airport at Cap Haitian in the north of Haiti to airlift any Americans and other nationals to get out of Haiti if they can make it to the north.  This situation in Haiti has spun out of control and it appears that the world is fiddling while the country burns.  Caricom has been working feverishly with the group of present-day Prime Ministers and former Prime Ministers including former Prime Minister Perry Christie to get this thing worked out in Haiti.  But Haitians being who they are, having defeated Napolean, cannot come to an agreement up to press time on what to do to move forward. And the killing and disorder continue unabated.  Prime Minister Philip Davis said he is strengthening the southern border of our country, to stop any possible refugee incursions and we have restarted repatriating people back through Cap Haitian.
