Happy Birthday Dame Marguerite Pindling

Saturday 26 June 2021 was  the 89th birthday of Dame Marguerite Pindling, former Governor General and the widow of the founding Prime Minister of The Bahamas Sir Lynden Pindling.  Happy birthday madam.

The following statement was issued by the Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party:

26 June 2021

The Progressive Liberal Party wishes Dame Marguerite Pindling a happy birthday, good health and God’s continued blessings on this day, 26 June 2021.

Born in the quaint settlement of Kemp’s Bay in Southern Andros, the Dame became one of the principal symbols in the struggle for Majority Rule and social justice as she campaigned alongside her husband, Sir Lynden Pindling, the Father of the nation.

Born into humble circumstances, Dame Marguerite walked, talked and consorted with Heads of States, Heads of Governments and royalty as she represented The Bahamas with distinction, also serving as The Bahamas’ Head of State.

Her inspiring story is inextricably linked to the story of The Bahamas – a story of boundless opportunities through self confidence, industry, perseverance and the dint of hard work.

So on this day on behalf of the Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party, the Hon. Philip Brave Davis, we wish Dame Marguerite Pindling Happy Birthday and trust that she enjoys this day to the fullest.

End
