Jerome Fitzgerald Bows Out

After fifteen years in front line politics, with five years spent in the House of Assembly, Jerome Fitzgerald, the last PLP Minister of Education announced on Monday 25th February 2019 that he was bowing out of front line politics.  He said that he would not be offering for the Marathon constituency again. Mr. Fitzgerald gave a moving address to the branch at Marathon and made his announcement in that address.  The meeting was being held to say farewell to Mr. Fitzgerald but also to start the process of choosing a new candidate for the PLP in the area.  Two people have advanced their names: Belinda Chipman and Leroy Major.  They were questioned by a panel of the Branch and will have further opportunities to show their positions.
