PRESSURE ON THE HOUSING MARKET

The Government is proceeding apace with the building of a tent city or dome housing in Abaco.  They are doing it without regard to the fact that the city is being built on the well fields in Abaco.  There is a desperate need for housing in Abaco as people begin to drift back to the island from the U S and from  New Providence where many have run to find shelter.  It is creating quite a lot of housing pressure on New Providence. People report that rents are sky high in New Providence as a result of the increased demand. The situation in Exuma is also quite critical as  it was already an expensive place to live but it is now become unsustainable to the ordinary man.
