The Ballots Have Arrived

File photo from 2016 referendum Bahamaslocal.com

No one quite knows why the ballots for use in the general election need to be printed in Florida but they are.  Police officers accompanied the ballots after printing in Florida back to The Bahamas last week.  Not without controversy. We continue to hear that the political level operatives at the Consulates in the U S are trying to break the chain of transport and custody of the ballots and had to be told off about it. Also be careful that Bahamians who are domiciled in the US do not register because they are not eligible in law, even though they may work for The Bahamas government.
