The Scandal Of The Abaco Poles

The press of The Bahamas needs to investigate the following story.  Electrical poles are down in mass in Abaco.  They will have to be replaced. Whitney Heastie, the CEO the Bahamas Power and Light Company, has reportedly been able to secure without a bid a company to come in from Puerto Rico and promised that the poles will be up in short order.  The Bahamians at  BPL are in wonderment at how such a contract could be procured without a public tender document.  They also wonder how a Bahamian company that did the work before was not offered the job first.  They wonder whether the company from Puerto Rico can withstand scrutiny given that the lights are back in Puerto Rico two years after the bad storm there.
