THE UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR COMMITS AN ERROR

It is interesting how American diplomacy plays out these days. It has always been a diplomacy by threat. Whether the country is big or small, the US acts like a bully in its diplomacy. You do this or else. They write reports that are often biased and inaccurate saying that they are monitoring one performance or the next but always implicit is the threat of some kind.
The most used threat against small countries like The Bahamas is to stop you from being able to travel to their country. Their decisions are subjective, ideological and well literally it seems as if the officer who decides wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, then your visa is gone.
There is a double threat here in The Bahamas where there is a pre-clearance facility that allows Americans to clear here in Nassau before they land in America. Bahamians see this as a plus to them and are terrified that it will be taken away from the country.
The fact that the U S has a military facility here in The Bahamas that is on sovereign territory and The Bahamas could order them out is of no consequence to the US because they know that effectively they are here as long as they want to be here. No Bahamian government had the balls to throw them out,
So last week, the United States Ambassador Hershel Walker, who says that he is a friend of The Bahamas went and intervened in a purely domestic matter, the governance issues as it relates to the city of Freeport. He claimed that this was some kind of threat to American businessmen and issued talking points for the FNM and the Grand Bahama Port Authority, the latter of whose principals are drowning in debt and inaction and are unable to carry out their responsibilities in Grand Bahama.
The Prime Minister said on 21 October 2026 in the Grand Bahama Shipyard that change must come.
The US Ambassador claimed in an Op Ed on 22 October 2026 in The Tribune, this is a threat ot American business interests and made demands of the government.
Lynden Pindling would have simply ignored this rank interference in the internal affairs of The Bahamas.
