TIME TO CALL IN THE GRAND BAHAMA PORT AUTHORITY

During the past week as the Chairman of the PLP  Fred Mitchell speaks more loudly about the state of Freeport and Grand Bahama, there was a spirited discussion about the Grand Bahama Port Authority and whether or not the business model which caused it to exist is still relevant to the times.  The overwhelming response is that it is time for the PLP to bite the bullet and rid Grand Bahama of the Grand Bahama Port Authority.  The position that holds sway is that Port Authority as presently constituted does not have the capital or the expertise to keep the city afloat.
