What Have We Become

“This artwork is so powerful, it depicts what’s going on in our society today. People will rather standby to record videos and take pictures to post on social media pages rather than helping a victim in need.  6 January 2016.”   That was a note appended to the painting displayed on the Facebook page.  It seemed to us worthy of note that in this age people are so desensitized to death that immediately after some murder or other mayhem takes place, the phone comes out, pictures are taken and it spreads around the world, even at the expense of the subject of the photo him or herself.  It is reprehensible but that’s the way it is in this age.
