This was posted on Friday 29 November 2019 on What’s App shortly after 6:40 p.m. when the island of New Providence was plunged into total darkness for about four hours. There were reports that Atlantis resort was in darkness due to their standby generator failing. There were reports that a Bahamasair jet languished on the runaway because the stand by power at the airport failed and the tower was offline. This is the same BPL that is expecting consumers to fork up 30 dollars per month on their existing bill per account to pay for their 650 million dollar loan. Bahamians generally were embarrassed because the power failure was caught on national U S TV.  Atlantis issued a statement saying that wild fluctuations in the power caused their own stand by generators to fail.
