Chamber Of Commerce Questions Bid

A letter to the Board of the Bahamas Power and Light Company has been leaked to the press questioning the award of a contract to Shell to build a natural gas plant to supply fuel and power to BPL in its next generation.  The letter asks the Board to explain how it is that the Board sent out a request for proposal (RFP) with one set of criterion and what was awarded was different from what was set out in the RFP.  Things that make you go hmmm! Remember the last time the FNM gained power, they gave the contract to a company against the Board’s advice.  A 300,000 dollar bribe ended being paid to  former FNM candidate and Board member Fred Ramsey to facilitate the contract.  The crooked FNMs are back again in power.  Watch out.
