College of The Bahamas held its last graduation exercises under that name on Thursday 26th May.  Next year the act will have been passed creating the University of The Bahamas.  The outgoing class saw the ceremony presided over by Alfred Sears in his last act as College Council Chair.  Mr. Sears announced that he will resign as at the end of the month, having accepted and been ratified for a nomination for the Progressive Liberal Party in the next general election for the Ft. Charlotte seat.  Deputy Chair Dr. Earl Cash is slated to succeed as College Council Chair.  The photos by Peter Ramsay show scenes from the graduation.  One of them with the students is particularly noteworthy because its shows the trend in our country where the women outnumber the men in higher education.
