MITCHELL’S PILMGRIMAGE TO ETHIOPIA

viagra sale no rx times;”>image011Fred Mitchell, Foreign Minister, speaking in Addis Ababa on 14th July.

The prime reason for the visit of the Foreign Minister Fred Mitchell to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia 13th July to16th July was to speak at the United Nations Conference on Financing for Development. The Caricom countries all wanted to ensure that the message of getting rid of GDP per capita as the determinant for concessional financing got through and that The world heard our concern about climate change.  The Bahamas was also concerned about the issue of the survivability of the Financial Services sector and that a more broadly based system of tax cooperation is sanctioned.  On all points the message got through and made it into the outcome document.

But secondarily this was the home of the Rasta God now deceased Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie.  The Minster paid respects to the deceased Emperor by a visit to the tomb at the Holy Trinity Ethiopian Orthodox Church on 15th July.  He also visited the tomb of their deceased Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.  The photos show the visit.
