Pindling Has Been Gone 17 Years Now

Sir Lynden Pindling, the founding Prime Minister of The Bahamas, died on 26 August 2000 at the age of 70 after a battle with prostate cancer.  Each year on that occasion, his widow usually marks the occasion by visiting the mausoleum with a small group of friends to lay a wreath at the tomb of the former Leader of the country.  This year was no exception and on Saturday 26th August at St Agnes Cemetery, Dame Marguerite who is now the Governor General of the country remembered her late husband and the father of our nation was joined by Senator Fred Mitchell. The photo is by Peter Ramsay of the Bahamas Information Services.
