SCHOOLS OPEN BUT THE UNIONS WANT TO STRIKE

by editor editor September 6, 2026

There is no sense of proportionality or it appears of care for the public interest. Belinda Wilson, the bellicose leader of the line staff Bahamas Union of Teachers, was leading the way that the schools were in bad shape, that the teachers were unhappy just before the school bell rang on Monday 31st August 2026. The schools opened fine. Only to be surprised when Stephen McPhee, the head of the mangers union of teachers pulled a strike that caused the schools to close. The first people knew about it was when parents were called to pick up their children because the children were being let out of school early. Here we go again. The children suffer because the adults simply can’t get along. By week’s end, the Government had obtained an injunction to stop the strike and the union was said to be talking to the Prime Minister.
