THE MEETING WITH THE US AND CARICOM
The Leader of Caricom St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Timothy Harris told the press that no matter that the five countries went to visit U S President Donald Trump, the fact is Caricom stood on the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of another state. He was referring to the fact that U S President had chosen to meet with five countries in the Caribbean on 23 March 2019 because they all agreed with him to overthrow the Government of Venezuela. It is a crying shame that The Bahamas got mixed up in that group. Both the Prime Ministers of Barbados and Trinidad issued statements affirming that their policy was non-inference. This is a particularly low moment for The Bahamas. The Jamaican Opposition is apoplectic that their proud country could be so embarrassed by their Prime Minister as to be involved in this stuff. Pictures started going around about how the leaders were treated by Mr. Trump. It seems that they were made to wait in an outer room of the hotel and sit on seats like school children said one comment.
