THE MURDER COUNT CONTINUES TO RISE: U S WARNING

Every day that passes, there seems to be one, maybe two young men shot dead in our streets in New Providence.  It has not yet become a political problem because the Opposition cannot really open their mouths on the subject but sooner or later it will, if it isn’t arrested.  The problem is what to do.  The latest outrage was the sensational killing of one woman by another.  This death was said to be mixed up in a lesbian fueled triangled love affair.  Matters not. The woman is dead and another woman is in custody for murder.   Predictably, the United States government’s entity in The Bahamas, the U S Embassy put out a warning to its citizens about the spate of murders.  The press asked the Foreign Minister Fred Mitchell what he thought of the warning.  His answer was: The Bahamas is working to solve crime and is concerned about crime but the warnings have so far not caused the tourists to stop coming to The Bahamas because the hotels are full.
