THE PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE REPORT FALLS FLAT

Last week the much awaited and anticipated report of the Public Accounts Committee on the payment for the Carifta Games held in The Bahamas two years ago was tabled in the House on Wednesday 16 September 2026. The Opposition leader Michael Pintard thought he was on to something. He could not get the report that he at first wanted in the last House so he had to reconvene his committee and this time, he was circumscribed severely. He could not make the wild accusations that he did in the previous draft report. He had to be satisfied with some idle complaints about process. All the talk about fraud and misallocation of funds fell flat, another monumental waste of Parliamentary time.
