Election Day 19 September 1972

The protagonist Lynden Pindling, the antagonist Cecil Wallace Whitfield

On 19 September 1972, the people of The Bahamas re-elected the government of Sir Lynden Pindling to office on the basis that they would take the country to independence. So said so done.  Senator Fred Mitchell said it was the first time that he voted. He was 18 years old.
