MICHAEL PINTARD MAKES A PLAINTIVE CRY

by editor editor October 11, 2026

The psalmists says “Hear Oh Lord the sound of my voice? Hear oh Lord and have mercy! My soul is longing for the glory of you. Hear oh Lord and answer me!”

We thought of that plaintive cry as one looked at the Opposition benches in the House of Assembly on Wednesday 7 October 2026. The debate was about the protection of the rights of older citizens but the Opposition leaders could not help themselves. There was something else in the air.

That something else stung them like a bee. They had thought that their campaign against the PLP and the demand to know who the Americans had identified as politician number one was helping their cause. They failed. The drumbeat has turned against them and their leader was being accused of siding with foreign agents and governments against their own people.

First there was the report that the Bahamian Ambassador to the United States Wendall Jones had met with US Justice Department officials to question why rogue Drug Enforcement Agents were operating in The Bahamas without the permission of the government of The Bahamas. The Attorney General Wayne Munroe weighed in to say that these agents were breaking Bahamian laws and were then liable to charges against them. The Prime Minister put the icing on the cake when he said the PLP had no fear of U S agents working in The Bahamas provided they worked with our permission.

The only one out of step was the US Ambassador who suggested that the government of The Bahamas was less than forthright on anti-drug trafficking.

Siding with the US was the Leader of the Opposition Michael Pintard.

The tide turned against him in public opinion so first in response Kwasi Thompson, his MP for East Grand Bahama, went into a full throated defence of the Leader of the Opposition saying how much he loved the country. Then Mr. Pintard himself calling the name of the MP for Fox Hill said that he wanted Fred Mitchell to know that he loved his country and that he was a patriotic Bahamian. This was in the House of Assembly on 7 October 2026.

Last week Bahmasuncensored.columnists stung Mr. Pintard further by shredding his arguments as to why he made the anti-Bahamian statements about drug trafficking

Mr. Mitchell replied Benedict Arnold of the United States thought he was a patriot as well but the question for Mr. Pintard is: a patriot or whom?
