Mrs. Zuma Loses In South Africa—What A Pity

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and outgoing AU commission chairwoman Nkosazana Dlamini-Zumas as they embraced each other following the outcome of the vote for the new President of the African National Congress, the governing party of South Africa on 16 December.  That person is likely to succeed Jacob Zuma as President of South Africa in elections next year.  We had hoped that Mrs. Zuma would have won and become South Africa’s first female President.
