Well what a difference a day makes.  7th September was election day in Trinidad and Tobago and Kamala Persad Bicessar is now the former Prime Minister.  The new Prime Minister is the Afro Trinidadian Keith Rowley.  It appears that the allegations of corruption against the  outgoing government took its toll.  The result was close 23 for the government and 18 for the now Opposition.  The former Prime Minister says that she will go to an election court to challenge the result based on the fact that the Electoral Commission in Trinidad extended voting for one hour without notice to her party.  In the meantime all ministers have been sworn in.  the new Foreign Minister is Senator Dennis Moses.  The Government of The Bahamas sent a note of congratulations to the new Prime Minister and promised to continue to work with the government of Trinidad and Tobago on matters of mutual interest.
