THE WORK OF THE MISSIONS ABROAD

Washington D C

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The journey from Majority Rule to modern times, has been an ‘interesting’ one in Bahamian history, according to Ambassador of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the United States of America, His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry in his Distinguished Lecture on ‘The Dream of ‘67’ as guest speaker in the University of The Bahamas’ 50th Anniversary of Majority Rule Symposium, January 12-13, 2017.

Dr. Newry traced, from an academic perspective, the milestones in Bahamian history that propelled the freedom movement that led to Majority Rule in The Bahamas on January 10, 1967 — one of the nation’s most pivotal and important moments.

Ambassador Newry is quite a knowledgeable individual especially with regard to the History of the Bahamas and Majority Rule. I am certain it was a great lecturer.
