BOYS IN THE HOOD PLAYS OUT IN FOX HILL
Fred Mitchell, Chairman of the PLP, in a voice note to PLPs last week on Friday 28th August 2026 about the dysfunctions of young black males in the country and the disturbance of the peace by a shocking use of automatic weapons in a residential neighbourhood of Fox Hill:
Mrs. Thelma Dill was 84 years old when she passed away last week.
She lived a life of quiet enjoyment, first on Armbrister Street and then Reeves Street in Fox Hill. But on the same day of her death, video footage now reveals a scene like one of those movies: “Boys N The Hood, Four skinny black men, hooded, jumped out of a car, and with automatic weapons.
Without looking to see who was there, they sprayed a yard with another group of skinny black men playing dominoes. Fortunately, the objects scrambled
They were hit by bullets. They did not die. We still have the shock of this kind of behaviour and crime, and it appears that we are at a loss as to how to stop it, although stopping it we must.
The importance of the expression “skinny black men” is that this is the prototype young male of African descent that is failing throughout the society and resorting to killing, injuring and maiming one another, and the society is losing productive capacity in the process. I’ve been on a crusade about this male dysfunction since 1986 and my return from law school, we just don’t seem to get the formula.
My suggestions have included and still include: the present social interventions like urban renewal, skills and morals training, and military like coercion, including mandatory protective orders for those in obvious dysfunction. It is that serious.
