FNM DISHONESTY: DEFENDING THE CLAIM OF VICTIMIZATION

The Tribune reported the following story on 11 August 2026: “FNM Leader Michael Pintard demanded the reinstatement of a young professional whose abrupt departure from the Bahamas Public Parks and Beaches Authority has triggered allegations of political victimisation, as party supporters protested outside the authority on Friday.
“The controversy surrounds Erinique Johnson, who was recruited as director of human resources but left the authority shortly after beginning work, prompting an online “Justice for Erinique” campaign and criticism from the Free National Movement and its Torchbearers Youth Association.”
Sounds like a good cause. There was an FNM demonstration led by Michal Pintard and joined by Andre Rollins, his competition for leader of the FNM and the MP for Long Island. They are were being dishonest.
Jamahl Strachan MP, the Chair of the Beaches and Parks Authority, against whom they were demonstrating came out and explained to the public the facts. The lady resigned her post. She came in of her own free will and resigned. No one asked her to resign. She did.
This is another example of the FNM not finding its sea legs and braying at the moon.
