best viagra times;”>Sorry Sarkis is now resigned it appears to the fact that his company is under water, he has lost his life’s work and he needs to disappear into the sunset.  We hope that is the conclusion drawn when in his sober moments, he looks at the wreck of what was once called Bahamar.  On Friday 23rd October, the headlines of the press in The Bahamas read that Bahamar’s liquidators had given pink slips to 2000 workers and told them they had jobs no more.

This is shattering.  The FNM said it’s the fault of the government.  How could it be?  The author of this destruction is one man, and one man only Sarkis Izmirlian.

True enough, we had been promised a seamless transition from developer to liquidators to Export Import Bank to Construction Company to the project being finished and with bridge financing being provided by the Bank.  The Bank deposed in a hearing at which the government did not appear on Monday19th October and again on Thursday 22nd October that it never held out any such promise and the liquidators were not acting consonant with their duty to the bank by keeping on people who were not working to protect the asset.  The liquidators got permission from the court on Monday 19th October to let the staff go and they were let go.  They had no money to pay the staff and no money to pay themselves.

Sarkis Izmirlian in a letter to his staff said that he was really sorrowful over the events.  He lashed out again at the government and said that it was their fault.   Never let the truth interfere with a good story.

The Prime Minister Perry Christie speaking at a luncheon at Diplomatic Week observances said that he would not abandon the people who worked for Bahamar.  He said he was meeting with the representatives of the bank and the government of China.  He said that for him it was a matter of the reputation of the Government of China and the Government of The Bahamas.

Bottom line though 2000 people out of work and sadness all around. The man who should be sitting in sack cloth and ashes though is Sarkis Izmirlian.  It’s your fault brother.
