ARETHA’S FUNERAL PROGRAMME

Seven miles of pink Cadillacs for Aretha

The Queen Of Soul’s gold plated casket arrives for the laying out

The funeral of the late Aretha Franklin, otherwise known as the Queen of Soul was held in her native city of Detroit on Friday 31st August.  It was quite an affair.  Missing were the Obamas as in Michelle and Barak who were performing other duties at the memorial service at the Capital in the United States for the late Senator John McCain.  The funeral was scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. but went into early hours of the evening.  It was quite a show including a 7 mile line up of pink Cadillacs in honour of song about Freeway of Love.  The full programme as published is laid out below.

The full program for Aretha Franklin’s funeral service on Friday, Aug. 31 has been released.

Local 4 plans to carry the funeral live on-air and on ClickOnDetroit.com. Coverage begins at 9 a.m.
