The following statement was issued by Senator Fred Mitchell, the PLP’s caretaker for the Fox Hill Constituency on the fact that four years after the murder of four Fox HIllians, the matter has not come to trial:
27 December 2017
It grieves me today to note the fact that four years ago today four young Fox Hillians Claudezino Davis, Shaquille Demeritte, Eric Morrison and Shenique Sands met their deaths in a murderous rampage by persons who to this day have not been brought to justice Although there have been arrests, there has been no trial.
The irony is that the anniversary of these unsolved murders takes place on the day when the Original Congoes Junkanoo Group gave such an excellent performance in the annual Junkanoo parade this year.
On this day 4 years ago, the Original Congoes Junkanoo Group of Fox Hill were gathered on Freedom Park awaiting the results of the annual parade in 2013 when shots rang out. Four people were cut down in the prime of their lives. The crime remains unsolved. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the four people of Fox Hill.
I plead to the authorities to bring this matter to trial.
